Why shadowing works
Train your ear
Hearing native rhythm before speaking it locks the pattern into your muscle memory.
Beyond pronunciation
Shadowing teaches the music of English - the stress, pitch, and pacing textbooks miss.
Bite-sized progress
5-minute daily sessions of shadowing beat hours of grammar drills for accent reduction.
Frequently asked questions
What is shadowing practice?
Shadowing means repeating a native speaker out loud, almost in real-time, mimicking their rhythm and intonation. It's one of the most effective ways to reduce a foreign accent.
How long should each sentence be?
Start short - 8 to 15 words. Once those feel natural you can scale up to longer sentences (up to 400 characters per practice clip).
Do I need to memorize the sentence?
No. You can read the reference text on screen while you shadow it.
