Would You Get a Yes on Got Talent?
Judged the way talent-show judges listen: a moment in the last third, a tone that is not a copy, a song choice that takes a risk, and a big note that lands.
What this panel listens for
- A moment: a big sustained note or a clear dynamic lift in the last third.
- A distinctive tone that is not a copy of the original record.
- Risk and originality in song choice or arrangement; "it felt like karaoke" is a buzzer.
- Pitch on the money-note. A cracked or flat big note ends the audition.
- A story and stage presence to carry the song.
Online application is about a two-minute video with your voice clearly audible, then a producer round, then roughly 90 seconds in front of the judges with a track or band. No age cap; minors need a guardian.
What to sing
The 90 seconds that contain the climax, built from quiet to big. Avoid the most overdone power ballads unless you rearrange them. Examples: Rise Up (Andra Day), Never Enough, Dancing On My Own (Calum Scott), Feeling Good.

Why singers use the Audition Readiness Test
Judged like the real panel
Each audition has its own profile: what the casting team or coaches actually listen for, their hard bars, and the phrases they use.
One honest scale
Scores use the same seven-axis rubric as Rate My Singing, so your numbers mean the same thing across every test on the site.
Free, private, repeatable
No signup. Record as many takes as you like, fix the two things that matter, and watch your readiness climb.
Frequently asked questions
Why did a "safe" song score lower?
Talent-show judges reward risk and a moment. A clean but flat performance with no dynamic arc is the single most common reason for a no, so expression and range weigh more here than on other tests.
Should I use a backing track?
For this test either works as long as your voice is clearly louder than the track. For the real application, check the current terms: some national versions ask for no backing track in the online video.
What should I record?
30 to 60 seconds of the part of a song that shows you best, a cappella or with a quiet backing track, in a quiet room with the phone about 30 cm from your mouth. Each page suggests what to sing.
Does my age change the verdict?
If you tell us your age band, the judge compares you with what a voice that age can do, and younger singers get a small allowance on the readiness bar. The Voice Kids page is judged on a child's scale by default.
