Would a Coach Turn for You on The Voice Kids?
Judged on a young voice's scale: pitch through the chorus, your own natural tone, joy in the words, and a song that fits you, with no pushing.
What this panel listens for
- Pitch that stays in tune through the chorus.
- A natural, unforced tone with your own character, not an imitation of adult singers.
- Joy and expression: coaches turn for a kid who means the words.
- An age-appropriate song in a comfortable key.
- Steady timing and breath for the length of a chorus.
Same blind format as the adult show, about 90 seconds, coaches hear only the voice. Ages are roughly 7–14 depending on the country. Applications usually start with a short home video.
What to sing
A simple, well-known song with a clear melody in an easy key, verse and chorus, no runs. Smile and tell the story. Examples: Count On Me (Bruno Mars), A Million Dreams, Riptide, Castle on the Hill.

Why singers use the Audition Readiness Test
Judged like the real panel
Each audition has its own profile: what the casting team or coaches actually listen for, their hard bars, and the phrases they use.
One honest scale
Scores use the same seven-axis rubric as Rate My Singing, so your numbers mean the same thing across every test on the site.
Free, private, repeatable
No signup. Record as many takes as you like, fix the two things that matter, and watch your readiness climb.
Frequently asked questions
Is this test fair for a child's voice?
Yes. The judge is told it is listening to a child or young teen: a lighter tone and smaller range are normal, adult vibrato is not expected, and forced belting counts against you. The readiness bar is lower than on the adult pages.
Can a parent record for me?
Yes. Record on any phone in a quiet room, or upload a video. A grown-up can press the buttons; the judge only listens to the singing.
What should I record?
30 to 60 seconds of the part of a song that shows you best, a cappella or with a quiet backing track, in a quiet room with the phone about 30 cm from your mouth. Each page suggests what to sing.
Does my age change the verdict?
If you tell us your age band, the judge compares you with what a voice that age can do, and younger singers get a small allowance on the readiness bar. The Voice Kids page is judged on a child's scale by default.
